In order to reconstruct the atmosphere of an authentic London club night, we opted for a vinyl and CD medium, and shipped in Chinawhite's resident DJ.

All of our equipment is transported in heavy-duty flight cases, and set up either the day before the event (if it is a large installation, as in this case) or on the day itself.

On this occasion, due to the size of the sound system, and the number of disco lights involved, the set-up lastest for two days.

In order to generate the correct atmosphere, the DJ was shielded from the crowd in his own DJ booth within the marquee, with a rectangular opening onto the dancefloor, so that he could just be seen above the assembled guests.

Inside the main body of the marquee, the nightclub arena was blacked out, with starcloth ceiling and trussing containing mini-MAC lights and glitter balls – showering the dancefloor with powerful lighting.

The results, as this photograph shows, speak for themselves. The revelry continued long into the early hours of the morning, and the DJ balanced the music selection perfectly all night.
